[wubi] Re: Please help testing Wubi 10.04

Sorry if I haven't replied, it is not a major bug so I overlooked it. As you mentioned, if you wait, it works. I am not sure why the grub2 disk scanning of the drives is so slow, but the workaround...

[wubi] Re: Please help testing Wubi 10.04

I would be glad to add VHD as new file format for the next release, provided it is compatible with our license. Please add a feature request to the Wubi launchpad page with any relevant link.

This is probably a grub2 issue, is there anything peculiar about your disk set-up?

[wubi] Re: Please help testing Wubi 10.04

Do a clean installation using the latest wubi/iso, select verbose mode and when it hangs, go to a console (CTRL+ALT+F2) and grab the logs (/var/log/syslog /var/log/install/*) then post them here

[wubi] Re: Please help testing Wubi 10.04

PcBoyGeorge that is normal since the beta2 is not the latest available ISO. You can override that passing the argument --skipmd5check

That is the expected behaviour, you can override that using the commandline argument --skipmd5check, but it is better to use the latest ISO

[wubi] Re: Please help testing Wubi 10.04

The architecture is irrelevant, it is important that the latest wubi/ISO is used. Actually if you run wubi.exe and let wubi download the ISO you should also end up with the latest daily ISO.

[wubi] Re: New Wubi 9.04 (r134RC) is available!

No, you will have to download Wubi separately, regenerating the ISO is a _big_ deal. You can of course run the new Wubi with the "old" ISO.

[ubuntu] Re: 9,04 Wubi.exe does not work =_=#

This is probably due to non-ascii chars in the volume (other issues reported involve non-ascii chars in windows user name or home path).
