Re: Is it just me or are you dissapointed

This is not a support thread, and the title POSES A QUESTION that people are answering. If you are unsatified by their answers, too bad.

Go start a support thread, and get help there. Otherwise,...

Re: Is it just me or are you dissapointed

I'm fairly pleased. Everything worked OotB, including wireless. I am having two minor issues though:

    1.) Sound trouble with flash.
2.) Firestarter doesn't load automaticly unless I manually...

Re: When will Ubuntu look like this ???

Damn straight! I was really unimpressed until it got to the bit with the onscreen keyboard and image sorting/manipulation. Very nice. I don't think it's so distant at all.

    Too bad the guy(s)...

I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. It's a virtual pandering to unorganized clods.

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

I congratulate your honesty. In fact, I admire it.

But as you might guess, I'm still undecided over this whole thing. Hahaha. ;)

By the way, Ubuntu has been and still is my exclusive OS...

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

I can of course, respect that, but i don't agree. A government isn't an authority because it can "plug holes", it's an authority because it has consent and recognition. This 'Isle of Man' is a...

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

But is the little fact brought up by the OP's link indicative of such a good reason? The jury is still out on that one. As I have said, I haven't made up my mind. I don't think you should yet...

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

Legality isn't the issue at all; apparently, the loopholes inolved in being based in the so-called "Isle of Man" are completely legal. The OP was reffering to the assertions of someone who was...

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

I don't believe it is all encompassing RULE that it is wrong to make money from FOSS. But I think that the issue here is really revolving around being an exception to the normal rules that apply to...

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

To tell you all the truth, I haven't made up my mind about this issue one way or the other. I can really respect some of the stuff I'm reading from people responding to this. A lot of it I can't. ...

    Re: Someone quits Ubuntu.

I've read through this thread, and I just have one thing to say: Way to go, guys. Wow.

So what if you people don't agree? At least he's thinking for himself. That's more than I can say for...

    Re: instability rant

Well I guess I'm sort of baffled here; I have no idea why you're having these problems and I'm not, and nobody else who posted here seems to be having them either. ](*,)

Look up XGL and AIGLX. Oh, screw it. Here's the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XGL and here's one about AIGLX as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIGLX

    There you have it....

It sounds to me as if you are using an old installation of breezy which has been upgraded to dapper (more or less) and that's where your issues are coming from (the transition didn't go too well). ...

Poll: Re: Did you use build-essential?

Why is it even a question in the first place? It should always be in the default install. It is integral to one's freedom/ability to install their software of choice. Not only that, but the...
