I currently use a Go Plus Air Gyration Mouse (& keyboard) as a remote & it is RF. Have used on all Ubuntu versions since 9.04 working flawlessly & I didn't need to add any additional drivers, etc,...
Same system, 100% for regular version & NBR of 10.04. Kudos to the developers!
I had installed both the regular version & netbook version of Lucid on a Asus EEE 1005. Both worked flawlessly. I would suggest first verifying the disc used in install is error-free (option comes...
Curious. I also will try next time (& post results) if happens again.
I did noticed Amule would start randomly working again. I believe I had narrowed the problem down to the number of...

Yes, unfortunate & true. Truly a loose-loose scenario...I really miss the applet but can handle the crackling. Hopefully we get this solved soon. :(
Well, after 4 days of pulling out my hair because of scratching, crackling sound, thanks Carlee, this seems to have worked.
Thanks Zarthon, I now understand the 'link' between the two. I...
I have since tried installing the regular install CD which doesn't install on this newer computer--Asus P5QL motherboard--of mine (but works flawlessly on my older computer).
However, both...

EXACT same problem here on one of my machines. Have also tried the regular versions as well as alternate (& have verified discs are 100% OK before install attempts).
Anyone?
Here's an interesting scenario I wonder if anyone has encountered. I did a fresh install of 9.10 on computer with a single HD. All minor problems got solved.
Backed up a faulty 2nd HD...
Had same problem. Solved mine by going into System->Preferences->Display & changing the resolution (lowered it). For some reason the higher 'default' resolution was giving me a black desktop. ...
I have been installing/using/upgrading Ubuntu for almost a year now. No install has gone flawlessly. A few things to remember:
1) It's free.
2) Learning curve is like a heartbeat sometimes...
After re-installing fresh, discovered I was missing a driver for my Audigy 4 sound card (drivers for Audigy 2 card are same). Used Synaptic Package Manager to get them. Then discovered that in...
Had same problem. Tried this guide & it created more problems (applet disappeared for logging off, etc, amoung other issues).

Turns out the disc I burnt had an error. Re-burnt disc then re-installed. Works flawlessly now.
The clicking is a good sign your drive is failing. Will work sometimes on some OS but not always. Use HD tools (ie. smartmontools) to check the health of the drive. Might not be fully gone yet but...
Definitely agree with this statement. Had initial troubleshooting with wired/wireless but easily fixed. Have stayed with Eeebuntu (over 3 other types) for >4 months.
Have a look at this thread:

(I had same problem). See post #106.
Cross157 is correct. I just spent better part of 2 days troubleshooting Jaunty to get my LG Voyager working. Do not install Bitpim via synaptic (doesn't detect phone because of - for me - port...
