There's a question on askubuntu, but no solution.
Anybody can help to resolve this? I don't have a mic input on my thinkpad, so usb headset is the only option to have any good mic plugged.
Any help...
I have this in 12.04 as well.
The solution is to add the Notification Area applet to the panel.
See http://askubuntu.com/q/121426/65555 for details.
Same error, but this solution is (recommended everywhere) won't work. Still get the same problem after the reinstall.
Tried the script, but it won't work. I've tried to change the viewport_x coords based on my resolution - stil it jumps to the next WS and then back. No window is moved..
This issue is annoying.
I have 2 vpns, one is working fine, the other doesn't. (both work with vpnc-connect, but they just bypass dnsmasq)
Can someone explain or point to the answers
1. why...
had to reinstall the system. have no clue why this didn't work.
i have restored my system backup like i always did. restored onto luks encrypted lvm.
lnstalled grub, recreated initrd
but the boot fails with ALERT /dev/mapper/vg1-root doesnt exist
i can see...
Yes, didn't help.
It seems that the freeze is happening always for some vids, never happen for other..
Actually your settings should be enough..
you can try setxkbmap -query to see your current layout settings.
It must be something wrong with FF. Since flash vids are working fine in chrome.
I tried all the suggestions, but none of them worked so far. Can't try the old trick with disable HW acceleration,...
I'd try to use the "additional drivers" applet first.
The reason it's not showing you any suggestions could be that you don't have restricted repositories enabled. Run...
would be nice to see some screenshots to understand better..
The sound on linux is a mess, most likely you need to play with the settings in:
1. sound properties
2. gstreamer-properties
3....
If I understood the question...
Ubuntu uses NM, so all the interfaces NOT listed in /etc/network/interfaces are managed by NM. This is how eth0 gets its address.
If you want a static IP you can set...
Check the /var/log/syslog, also post ifconfig on the ubuntu and ipconfig on the xp.
This could be an issue on any of them, try to ping each other, try to ping some site by ip. For example, ping...
But if you create an ad-hoc wifi net, it should by default share your existing internet connection over it when you choose "Shared to other computers" Method on the IPv4 tab.
Did you try that?
Did you try to google first?
Anyway, check this guide.
If you want plain xfce, not xubuntu - check the report on that.
Any ideas?
Hi,
I've ran an update and among other things the cups was updated.
But during the update it failed to start, and it can't be started, thus breaking some of the dependent packets.
2 not fully...
By update do you mean updrade the OS/firmware?
AFAIK you can install android upgrades from the SD card, so you just need to copy the firmware to the sd.
Try to google, for example this guide is one...
Looks like a nice wallpaper!
The workaround is to logout, switch to VT (ctrl-alt-f1) and
% rm -rf .cache/sessions
Can you plz mark the thread solved?
Just a note - do not install any java software (eclipse, maven, netbeans, tomcat etc) from ubuntu repos. 1st of all they're outdated there, 2nd, the install will pull a crazy load of useless libs....
Just FYI
There's a similar thread and here's the solution
See if it helps.
