    I must say I don't relay care about UEFI boot or classic BIOS. And I'm not sure to completely understand your advice.
    All I want is booting Windows when I choose sdb from the bios and Ubuntu/Grub...

    I haven't read the whole conversation but usual way is :

    your_command | grep your_search
    ex: cat /var/log/syslog | grep failed

    You can also use -i with grep if you don't want to be case...
