Starting from scratch.
1. Deleted existing partition from USB.
2. Created a new (type W95 FAT32 (LBA) (Bootable) partition using disks utility.
3. installed grub using
grub-install...
Looks good, however, the list does not include all the iso's I want to use, and it requires windows to build. I did look at the article and it does have some good information I can use.

I tried double clicking and right click then run on the kompozer-bin file. Both menthods failed to launch the file.

Apparently, this ppa works only with older versions of ubuntu. I am on 13.04 (amd64). Below are my steps for how I installed it and the response from terminal.

I agree, I always choose the repositories first if tha package is available.
I looked for kompozer in synaptic and in the Ubuntu repository, by typing
sudo apt-get install kompozer both times...
