  1. [SOLVED] Re: No sound at all after trying to replace pulseaudio.

Forget it. Great time to start from scratch.
  2. [SOLVED] No sound at all after trying to replace pulseaudio.

Ok, so last night I did two things: 1- upgraded to the new ATI Catalyst 11.10 driver (which fixed a few bugs).

The other is, I tried to remove PulseAudio completely and use ALSA instead. This was...
  3. [ubuntu] Re: Youtube Problems: skipping...due to Flash 10?

What video card do you use and have you installed any drivers for it?

Try to include as much information as possible when you post a question. Folks around here are incredibly helpful, if not...

[ubuntu] Cursor speed in game way too fast.

Whenever I load up a game (Glest and 0AD today) on my HP Laptop, the cursor speed is far too fast for the game to be playable. It's fine outside of the games.

I'm using 11.04 on an HP laptop with...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

And I'm thinking it should be something like this:

    ${if_existing /proc/acpi/battery/bat0/state} ${else} ${battery_bar bat0} ${endif}

But I don't know where to go from here. More specifically,...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

That was it. I forgot an endif. I should know better.. it's no different than <> </> but I suppose the simplest mistakes are the ones we overlook most often.

Thank you, sir. This gives me a bit...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

It's a shame that there isn't a way to simply rotate it.

I think, though, I'll save that for the time being. What I'm trying to do tonight is have my network information change when I switch...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Finally took the time to tackle this from scratch. Learning a lot. Thanks for the kick in the *** for trying to copy a data dump.

Anyways, what I'm trying to do now is three short vertical CPU...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I wasn't asking for somebody to come in and fix it for me. I was asking for this -- a push in the right direction. Thank you. And as I stated in my post, I was using his script to get an idea of how...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I've decided to go with the VinDSL script this time (I couldn't for the life of me figure out Lua on my own) and have pretty much everything good to go save for my weather and a few layout issues. My...
  11. Re: (Dual Boot) Using Wine to run games already installed in Windows

I had a feeling it was high hopes. Well, in that case, at risk of causing an ethical debate, I've acquired the game through a torrent. The folder contains files titled rld-nwn2.r01, rld-nwn2.ro2, etc...
  12. (Dual Boot) Using Wine to run games already installed in Windows

I'm running a Windows 7 / Maverick Meerkat box and have Neverwinter Nights 2 installed over on the Windows side. I'd like to just run it in Ubuntu -- preferably just with copying the program over...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Thank you, miegiel. Those are the issues that have been confusing me the most. I'm going to try to tackle the weather script on my own. Hopefully I'll start to get the hang of this language.

    Is...

It's an AMD Phenom II, yeah. Here is the output of sensors:

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Beautiful, thank you. And I'll remember about the code boxes.

Speaking of which, I've tinkered around with this and tried a couple different scripts. My temp does not work at all either.

    This...

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Conky shows up just fine; that was never the issue. It's the network monitor's inactivity and lack of IP address that I have an issue with. Here's a screenshot of what I get, just in case that helps.

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Okay, so I'm on Day 2 of Linux. That being said, I 'cheated' with the Conky GUI installer. I've got it set up how I want it, for the most part, but my network monitor doesn't show any activity or IP...
