If you're unhappy with Ubuntu's built-in language IME for Chinese, take a look here.

There's a better IME put up on ShelleX called SunPinyin. It gives you the source code and the instructions to build the .deb files. You'll still need SCIM installed to use it, but you can go into...
I think this folder came from when I used System > Adminstration > Create a USB Startup Disk to create a bootable SD card for my EeePC. What I'm not sure of is how that folder ended up on my hard...
I just did it again, and now the folder is gone. The only thing I did differently was drag the folder into the terminal rather than type out it's location. I haven't restarted yet, but everything...
Ok, quick update. I'm not worried about the size of this folder anymore, now I'm worried that I cannot remove it. I just ran
and the file is still there.
The README.diskdefines file says I do not have permissions to open that file when I double click it. However, when I open it through Terminal and Gedit, it's a blank page.
Isn't the 'wubi install' the Ubuntu in Windows installation?
Nope, no 'unmount volume' option when I right click on this drive.
Yah, sorry, I forgot to include a snapshot of the folders contents.

I was looking to free up some space on my secondary drive when I noticed I have a drive labeled USB\040HDD under /media.

Actually, I had to delete my swap partition because my computer kept booting saying that it could not load /dev/sdb5 (my swap-partition). I couldn't get into the OS at all without running a Live SD...
I just tried this:
- Ran ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid/ to find the other drives UUID.
- Then sudo mkswap -U UUID /dev/sdbX to set the swap.
- Finally sudo swapon -a
Then I exited the Terminal and...
I tried this on my EeePC and was first told that my primary swap partition wasn't big enough. So, I resized my primary drive and set the swap partition up on the secondary drive.
I then did...
I wouldn't try this on the HP 2133 Mini-Notebook, the VIA processor, chipset, and graphics probably won't play well with it. But, if you're in the market for a new mini PC, the HP 2140 Mini-Notebook...
That worked, thank you.
I'm running Ubuntu Mobile on my Eee PC 901 and I recently clicked on something I shouldn't have clicked on and deleted some of the nicer looking icons at the top of the desktop.

I tried to use Samba through Webmin, and couldn't figure it out. Then I set up SSH in about 5 minutes (the time it took to install openssh-server and sshfs through synaptic on both machines) and...
EKS and LSWB,
Thank you very much. For a newbie like me, very simple, direct instructions are the way to go. I will try this ASAP.
I'm looking through Synaptic now and I don't see a Samba GUI. Does it have a different name, or do I need to go to Samba's website to get it?
Thanks
Isn't there something easier? I'm new to Linux and the only networking experience I have is with Windows and in Linux with Hamachi + Samba. I tried the instructions at the above recommended link,...
