Hi all,
I'm installing Debian (using netinstall) on a really old computer (which, for some reason, crashes every time during the hard disk detection stage of the Ubuntu alternate install CD). I...
Ok, dist-upgrade will work, but I cancelled it. I don't want to force the upgrade. There is a reason those packages are blocked. Maybe it's because the upgrade will break some packages. I want to...
Thank you very much for both of your replies. I will try to force the upgrade, but I just hope it wont render my system inoperable.
I am running Kubuntu 9.04 and have updated all packages. However, the update manager says that the following packages are "blocked":

Thank you.
Thanks! This is what I was looking for. Also, I need a way to update a progress bar from within a function and I don't know how to do it.
For example, when the user clicks the...
pk2cmd (a microcontroller programmer cmdline interface). There's no library, it's just an app.
Hey all, I'm using QtCreator (IDE) to write a frontend for a command line app using C++ and Qt 4.
I need to be able to execute the command line app with certain flags, read the output (the program...
I recently repartitioned my hard drive and removed Linux. Now GRUB wont boot because I removed it's boot partition as well. (Don't worry I'm going to reinstall Linux later :P )
Anyway, how do I...
Thanks for reporting the bug. I've been a bit busy lately with school and all so I didn't have time to fix the bug.
1. Filezilla
2. GFTP
How do you change that?
What are you good with? I'm thinking of a combination of C++ and Python.
What do you mean no video? You mean you see absolutely nothing on your external monitor or just when watching movies you see a black area where the movie is supposed to be?
My problem is that I...
Highly doubt that's the reason. Try connecting to an external monitor first and use the FN keys to redirect video output. On my dell 6000, it's the Fn + F8 keys. Cycle through video output modes.
Nope. It's as simple as plugging in the cable. You need to use the special Fn keys on your laptop to redirect the video output though. Nothing special needs to be done.
Unfortunately, no. I'm only 17 years old and in high school last year. I have the competence and coding ability to start this project, but just don't have the time. If someone would like to help...
So is there a guide or something to installing KDE 4 svn from source on Ubuntu?
Unfortunately, the last step will NOT work for me.
*face palm*
I have successfully compiled it. However, the Makefile has no install target. Therefore, it is not possible to do make install. There are, however, a bunch of folders in my build tree...
I'm sorry I didn't state this before. I didn't want to install the old KDE 4.1 nonsense. The svn trunk has a lot of improvements that I want. I don't want Ubuntu's old builds. That's why I compiled...
Using the following two guides, I have compiled KDE 4 from source (trunk):
http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/KDE4/Kubuntu_and_Debian
http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/KDE4...
Ok, so what's the best way to get started with compiling KDE from source? The instructions in the KDE techbase were practically useless.
Bump...
But are there Ubuntu packages? I don't want to waste hours compiling all the time.
Hey all, are there any repositories that offer daily svn builds of KDE 4? Or at least some very recent builds?
