    Don't try to burn it as an audio CD.

    Burn it as a data CD.

    My guess is that if you specific it as an audio CD it will convert the MP3s so an old (non-MP3 reading) player can read it.

    It does allow you to add software etc to the USB boot though.

    you should be able to create an xorg.conf in your live cd boot by running this:

    sudo X -configure

    you shouldn't need a password to run it while running the live cd. I think just pressing enter...
