  1. [ubuntu] Re: Hard drives changed sdx designations... should I be worried?

OK now that you mention the primary and logical partitions, I'm pretty sure that's what it did. As I said earlier I haven't used Ubuntu in awhile (I installed this Ubuntu 12.04 back in May and...
  2. [ubuntu] Re: Hard drives changed sdx designations... should I be worried?

Thanks so much for the answer. I haven't used Ubuntu lately, so it's my first time using Ubuntu in a long time, and I wasn't aware of the UUID change. It looks like that my /etc/fstab all mount...
  3. [ubuntu] Hard drives changed sdx designations... should I be worried?

Previously my hard drive setup was like this:

    /dev/sda - Windows partition, has sda1 and sda2
    /dev/sdb - Ubuntu partition, has sdb1, sdb2, sdb5, sdb6, sdb7; no idea why they skipped sdb3 and sdb4...
  4. [ubuntu] Accessing backed up files in Deja Dup (the default backup software)

So here is my current configuration:

    /dev/sda - 500GB - Windows 7
    /dev/sdb - 500GB - Ubuntu 12.04
    /dev/sdc - 2.5TB - External hard drive

/dev/sda (Windows 7) shows signs of failure; I...

  7. [ubuntu] Two finger tap produces right click instead of middle click

Just installed 10.10. Everything is perfect (Ubuntu has really changed in the past couple years, I like it) except that doing a two finger tap on my laptop in Firefox does a right click. In my older...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: New laptop, touchpad works but not detected as one

Bump, still need the help. I figured out how to disable my touchpad entirely but for when I don't have access to a mouse this would be helpful.
  9. [ubuntu] New laptop, touchpad works but not detected as one

Hey guys I just bought an Asus UL50Ag.

Everything works out of the box which I am very excited about.

The only issue I guess is me; I'm not used to typing on a laptop so my hands frequently...

  11. [SOLVED] Re: Wireless access in 9.10 using Dlink DWL-G122

I had the same issue; Ubuntu recognized wireless networks but didn't connect to any of them (I have a wireless usb adapter). If you're having the same problem, try this:

  12. [ubuntu] Re: belkin n1 wireless usb adapter not working in karmic

  13. [ubuntu] Re: belkin n1 wireless usb adapter not working in karmic

Bump, it seems that a lot of people are getting an identical problem with different wireless cards... I hope there's a fix out there. I'm currently on Vista which I don't want to be.
  14. [ubuntu] Re: belkin n1 wireless usb adapter not working in karmic

Dang, I don't have a router so I can't do that! Oh well. I think I'm going to get my ethernet jack fixed so I can just do a wireless connection instead.
  15. [ubuntu] Re: belkin n1 wireless usb adapter not working in karmic

Yeah, I can locate all the networks but not connect to them. I'm using the Arizona State University wireless connection so there's no encryption on the network.
  16. [ubuntu] Re: belkin n1 wireless usb adapter not working in karmic

Bump, would be nice to see if I'm the only one who is getting this problem or if there is a solution to this. Thanks!

  18. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 + VirtualBox problem (urgent!!)

  20. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 + VirtualBox problem (urgent!!)

Yeah it was a mistake but I assumed that Ubuntu 9.10 would be agreeable with my wireless card (I was wrong) especially since it worked in Jaunty.

So there's no way to get VirtualBox installed on...
