I set a static ip with:

auto loiface lo inet loopback


auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.110

pw auth works. I added the user to the smb password file. Visited \\192.168.1.50 and it asked for a user/password, entered the info and it let me in without a problem
