Ubuntu ships with generic kernel. Does it mean that it utilizes all range of processors to their maximum capability? Or it just makes Pentium 4 a high speed 80386 ?

It is successful. Now I will write it to /etc/modules.

Will work. But with lesser speed. Also it may not deliver sufficient power to your hovercraft.

try the command sudo apt-get autoremove if you have done apt-get uninstall.
