I don't know what you really mean, but if you want to boot up without the 3sec timeout, you may go to /boot/grub/menu.lst and search for 'timeout' then change it to 0.

Try to make it bootable with lilo.
Install it:
sudo apt-get install lilo
and then type lilo -M /dev/sdx (replacing x with the letter of your flash device)
Then try to reinstall grub..
You have selected a wrong partition. When your grub is popping up press 'e' to edit your partition.
try hd0,0 ,hd0,1 , hd0,2 ... hd0,6
if you find the match, post again to help you make forever...
Write the ISO to a CD then boot from it. Tell me if a problem occurs.
Choose a mirror and download it.

Yes, of course. If you have the bar that is on bottem, right click and choose add toolbar or something like that. A new bar will appear and from now on you can populate it like it was by default.
