So I tried this before mounting:
sudo touch /media/phoenix/test.txt
and file is there:
ls -la /media/phoenix/
total 8
Just realised this is probably what you meant I should run:
Unmounted:
ls -la /media/phoenix/

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Nov 12 23:25 .
drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 4096 Nov 12 23:25...

192.168.1.15 phoenix<00>
I've placed the [hitachi] share at the end as indicated.

Hi,
So this is the command I run and the error I get:

mount error: could not resolve address for PHOENIX: Unknown error
Hi bab1,
Thanks for your help. Now I think I understand a little bit better how this works. I read the other thread you pointed to and yes, it looks like my problem is more similar to the one...
Hello,
I have exactly this same problem. However, I do find it hard to believe that I must have a local DNS server OR that I edit the /etc/hosts file in order to make it work. It just sounds way...
Thanks gaigoleb2. I found this post on removing the overlay scrollbars in that blog:

Hello,
I'm also having this issue. Also found the overlay scrollbars difficult to use, so I removed them but now the scrollbar doesn't have the scroll buttons and I do need them. Also, the shade...
Hello,
Is it possible to migrate from Linux Mint 11 to Ubuntu 11.04 without reinstalling the whole system, i.e. as if it was an upgrade from a previous version from Ubuntu. I would like to avoid...
