Xubuntu 13.04 installed without a hitch... except this one:
The PgUp/PgDn and Home/End keys (=Fn+PgUp/PgDn) don't work.
A little searching suggested diagnostic tools: xev and acpi_listen:
- xev...
This is a very useful package for time-series manipulation, which is under constant development.
It's difficult to install the dependencies (particularly scipy and numexpr). And the Ubuntu 12.04...
To summarise, I've now tried to use bluez-simple-agent with the six following combinations hardware & Ubuntu versions:
- Dell 640m, (builtin) Dell Wireless 350 BT chip, Xubuntu 11.10
- Dell...
I think I found those & got suspend & brightness working - thanks Snow :)
Same problem occurs on Dell Inspiron 640m with Xubuntu 12.04 running from live USB, once again with both inbuilt Bluetooth & USB dongle:
xubuntu@xubuntu:~$ apt-cache show bluez python-gobject...
bluez-simple-agent also looks broken in Xubuntu 12.04; I tried it on a T91 netbook with an internal adapter (not how to find out the make; lsusb, lspci & lshw don't give me anything...
Well, that's good to know, thanks :)
There's actually no problem with hardware recognition AFAICT:
onebir@dell640m:~$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub...
So Bluez has been broken (or undocumented to the point no one knows how to use it) since August 2010? & that's just the way things go?
In Xubuntu 11.10, I failed to get bluetooth working using the applet & various wheezes I've since forgotten. So I decided to try again via the CLI to make documenting what I'd done a bit easier:

Has anyone using the gma500_gfx done today's kernel upgrade?
I'm a bit leery of it given problems I've had getting a GMA500 netbook working recently...
I saw the same warning & don't want to use it...
How about Via's Pi-alike?
Some other options here.
Been trying to get screen rotation working on the accursed Asus T91.
Are the problems I've had due to the "extremely limited" support? (ie it's a complete lost cause..?)
(I'm pretty sure this...
Screen rotation

Touchscreen calibration:

Fix documented here works fine. :)

What I tried:

38 pages is enough - starting new thread here.
38 pages of posts seemed a bit much so here's a brand new Asus T91 thread. Yeaaaayyyy.
On initial login screen is distorted (desktop in top half only). It may be necessary to select "recovery...
Seems like this (Russian) guy's had some luck with 12.04:
http://snowdimon.blogspot.com/2012/03/ubuntu-1204-intel-gma-500.html
Perhaps the GMA 500 support's better in the newer kernels? This list...
Might it be a GMA 500 issue rather than Lubuntu?
This guy seems to have got it sorted (for Ubuntu):

(in Russian, but google...
Thanks irv - couldn't see anything obviously relevant to this trash problem in 11.10 tho...
I mainly need a USB install for fallback purposes, so working round it with rm isn't too bad.
It looks like there's some fault on the USB drive that makes it incompatible with unetbootin's install; it often hangs up while it's writing the casper-rw file.
After I downloaded the xubuntu...
I just used Unetbootin to create a persistent Xubuntu 11.10 install on a USB drive (FAT32). This worked fine the first time, but then required a password. I tried these combinations of logins and...
