I haven't seen this on my gazp7, but I've probably rebooted it fewer than ten times since installing 13.04 so I may have been lucky so far. I am using a custom wallpaper. I will report back if this...
Actually, all current-gen System76 laptops require the (Ubuntu-only) System76 driver to work properly. Without it, the SD-card reader and the brightness keys do not work.
What software are you trying to get the webcam to work with? Does the file /dev/video0 exist on your system?
Every Steam game? Not a chance.
Every Valve game? Still no.
Every Source game? Maybe.
As a consumer, I don't really have a problem with the THQ bundle. What bothers me about it in the message it sends to indie developers. They have all had to invest considerable amounts of time and...
I agree, even though I don't even play WoW.
FTFY. The only difference between being an official tester and not being one is having write permission in the beta subforum and being able to see the Linux store page in the client.
The System76 driver is GPLed, so if you have some programming experience you should be able to extract the relevant code from it and build it for any distro.
I own it on Steam. It runs perfectly under Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit, on Ivybridge Mobile graphics. I can definitely recommend it to fans of the point-and-click adventure genre.
Of course, I dropped everything I was doing and installed it as fast as I could.
I tried installing a couple of games (Amnesia, Serious Sam 3: BFE and Dynamite Jack). All installed without a...
I'm in the beta! Oh happy day! :D
If the purchase completed, Amnesia should be in your software sources. Try running
sudo apt-get install amnesia
It should give you some details on what is happening. Post the terminal output here.
I'm using 12.10 and am trying to do some basic word processing. Unfortunately LibreOffice insists on crashing every 10 seconds when I write equations. When I run it in terminal I get the following...
Well, there's your problem. An HD-DVD is not a DVD, and will not play in a regular DVD player. Try it with a normal DVD.
The guy who's doing the porting (flibitijibibo) posted this on twitter less than an hour ago:
If you had signed up yesterday you would have gotten an extra 12 months for free.
The latest version of the System76 driver (3.2.1) claims to do the following:
Which is great! I used to have this problem earlier, but it hasn't happened since I upgraded the driver.
However, I...
For clarification, the link I provided will only work if you use Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10. Sofox's link should work in any browser though.
apt://torchlight
This is correct. Alternatively, you can use chattr to flag the file as immutable:
sudo chattr +i wallpaper.pngThis will prevent everyone (even root) from removing the file (of course, root can...
It probably would. :P
Thing is, I have Firefox configured exactly like I want it, with bookmarks and addons and stuff, so it would be inconvenient to switch to another browser (laziness ho). For...
That would work, I suppose. I was hoping there was an easier way, since Mozilla considers the bug severe enough to temporarily stop shipping 16, but I guess not.
Yes, I get 16 from (the official,...
precise-updates, which is enabled by default.
Well, I mean if I were to unpack this archive into my /usr/bin, that would overwrite whatever firefox related files were already there, yes? I could...
That would require me to install it via dpkg, which I have already said I do not want to do.
