to fix dodge animation, I just had to press "Restore Defaults" (button with a scrambled paper in lower right corner of "Focus Animation") and then edit the entry to change from "Fade" to "Dodge"...

It most surely has something to do with MIN and MAX values in the code you add to xorg.conf:
