I confirm a problem with the said kernel and said device. When I go to "Administration->Hardware Drivers" it says that

to fix dodge animation, I just had to press "Restore Defaults" (button with a scrambled paper in lower right corner of "Focus Animation") and then edit the entry to change from "Fade" to "Dodge"...
