Despite gcc-4.8 shipped with LTS 14.04 does support C11, there is no stdatomic.h header file.
The package search engine doesn't provide helpful details.
Any hint?
I have my Ubuntu Server acting (also) as a print server with CUPS.
All printers are networked and accessed through the "socket://some_addr:9100" URI.
I'd need to create a script to check by command...
After last upgrade, KDE is not starting anymore.
I reach the KDE blue logo (with the rotating gear) and then just a black screen with the mouse pointer in the center.
startkde says KDE is already...
When listing files with "ls -la" I get this kind of output:

In the recovery boot mode there is nothing useful.
I can reinstall packages, but I could do that from the normal CLI.
If only I knew what's wrong...
Since a few days the X part of my Kubuntu desktop is failing to start.
This is what I see in /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

Symptoms are that whatever I write in ~/.ssh/config is gracely ignored by SFTP and kept in consideration by SSH.
It looks like that sftp doesn't read the local user configuration file ~/.ssh/config, while ssh and scp do.
Am I missing something or what?
TIA.
Maybe part of the problems come from the moduile load.
If I run modinfo I get:
~ modinfo rtl8192cu
filename: ...
I have this wonderful Belkin F9L1004 working under Windows. :(
I know it's built around an RTL8192CU chipset which should be currently supported by my Kubuntu machine as I can see the driver...
Is there any news in NOT using ndiswrapper?
All I get so far is:

I am running Kubuntu 12.04 on my desktop PC.
Which, I'd say, it's rather powerful:

- RAM 12GB 1333 MHz
- HD 1.2 TB Barracuda 10K rpm
- NVidia GeForce 210
- MB ASUS P6X58D-E, BIOS...
I'm trying to use avidemux to convert a file from "RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 720 x 384, 25.00 fps, video: XviD, audio: Dolby AC3 (6 channels, 48000 Hz)" to "MPEG-4 AVC" for video and "AC3...
Do you mean that I can only send faxes with a modem?
Is there any MFP I can actually use under (k)ubuntu to send and receive faxes?
Is there anyone able to send and/or receive faxes wirh an SCX-4623F?
I've been asked to uninstall any PIM-related stuff from a number of Kubuntu desktops.
This seems not to be doable without uninstalling KDE.
KDE people say there'd be no side effect: KDE can live...
None knows! Weird!
I've mounted a brand new Samsung SCX4623F multifunction printed (scanner, fax and printer).
The scanner and the printer worked fine out-of-the-box under Kubuntu 11.10.
But, what about the fax?...
Almost right. The issues are happening only with CD-RWs. I can write CD-RWs in the original drive ONLY WHEN BRAND NEW. And, once written, I cannot read or even get the disk-info with "cdrdao...
I took more time to make al tests from scratch. And the results are really puzzling.
0. I used to run KDE v3.5 on the same hardware in the past with no issue at all in any case...

UPDATE #2.
Any medium other than CD-RW can be burnt and read back with either K3B or brasero.
CD-RWs fail in K3B unless they are brand new (never burnt).
CD-RWs work with brasero at any time: I...
I'm running KDE and am not using any PIM stuff.
I would like to avoid to start akonady and the related mysqld RDBMS.
Any idea? There's nothing in the Settings to handle this.
TIA.
I checked it by mnyself.
AND IT'S NOT WORKING PROPERLY!
You cannot create/delete/edit any system wide network connection.
And, as mentioned earlier, the GNOME counterpart can.
This is a real...
