If you have Compiz enabled (as in Unity by default):
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Then, in Control Center: Personal / CompizConfig Settings...

Oh man... FML! So, I solved it.
I stumbled upon this thread. My Dell Inspiron laptop has a bunch of mappings for the F-keys that override the usual functionality. My F2 key is set (out of the box)...
