Ok,
last time i installed Ubuntu, it gave me the option of choosing guided/a scroll bar for how large you wanted the partition
Well now its not there =[
Tried using my 7.10 live cd, and my 8.04...

Well to upgrade 7.04{or any other version} to 8.04, download the 8.04 .ISO from the site and burn to a disk from inside Vista, or linux doesnt matter
Boot from the live cd and click install
There...
hmmm...
this looks like a hard problem to solve...
I can't think of anything.
Call toshiba for help maybe? if you want to wait through all the customer service stuff ;]
All i can think of right...
If you havent solver your problem yet...
From inside for Ubuntu 8.04 disc, click install. There should be an upgrade option!
All settings and files will be saved
but Ubuntu should update its self....
ATI works fine with my Ubuntu..my old comp has an x800. got the restricted drivers for it and worked fine.
a WUBI derived install will be slower then XP itself, since its basically intalled inside windows, if your HD is big enough partition it and install Ubuntu..without Wubi. =D
hmm...
maybe something messed up during your installation?
try reinstalling a clean version us Ubuntu, or try and reintall GRUB.
Are you using a LiveCD? 8.04 LiveCD iso file should already have Wubi on it. Just get it and stick it in your cd drive, and click the option "Install Inside Windows". Works fine on my Alienware....
Are you installing using the live cd?
Or Wubi?
Yes. On my new computer we have dual-booted with Vista on the same hard disk. Partitioning went fine and Ubuntu 8.04 runs smootly with no problems.
But when i boot into vista, after the boot screen...

is the right plugin installed?
Well as for the folder sharing Idk if you could share folders between the two. Do you mean 2 computers, one with Windows and one with Ubuntu?
Yeah. check and make sure you have the right drivers. I had the same problem with the new beta Ubuntu (8.04). but i reverted back to 7.10 with no problem.
yup just hit enter when your done typing your password and it should take it!
I was in your position once lol. Took me forever to figure it out =]
