Ok, now on to the important question... does WoW work?
eeeuuuw, awfully KDEish... eew...
I like evolution more simply because it's a native gtk app, not something that doesn't fit into the GNOME desktop.
Not that I ever use a mail app tho, I only use webmail. But that's what I think.
My fps really suck, way below what I get in windows.
Im using a geforce 6600 with nvidia-glx 1.0.8762+2.6.15.11-1
I used my old config from windows and fixed it as the guides say and got crappy...
I found the solution :D
mkdir -p ~/.kde/socket-<hostname>
worked for me :)
(google is your friend...;-)
I get the same error when I click the "Audio" tab in winecfg...
EDIT: I did a
sudo modprobe snd-seq
and that got rid off the alsa error. winecfg still crashes when I click the "Audio" tab...
If you already have WoW installed in windows/on another computer, just copy it to your ubuntu partition, cd there and do a "wine WoW.exe"
As Michael said
{
If you don't have it installed...
I'm playing WoW with the same setup and it works super nice. :D
I'm Selmak on the EU Burning Legion.
I have a Dell D505 laptop that I got from school.
It came with Windows XP preinstalled so yesterday I had to erased everything on the 2nd partition and installed Ubuntu Breezy (couldn't take it any...
indeed
Hello everyone.
I'm from Sundsvall too. :) Now we are 3 guys from Sundsvall!
So you mean one menu bar in EVERY window uses less space than one global menu bar for all windows, huh? :P
btw. I'd like a global menu bar applet, and IMO it would fit very good into GNOME's...
Go Epiphany
Well, yeah. Epiphany should be the default, but either way, only one of them should be shipped with Ubuntu. Two web browsers would just confuse newbies.
I agree, you are so, so right. :)
I tought of that too, and I don't know. I just think it's really greedy of them to even think of something like that.
Oh.. somewhat like palladium. I hate those greedy companies.... evil is the word.
No it doesn't, it looks way worse than KDE. Anyways, that's just my opinion.
If Ubuntu wasn't free I would most likely still be using Gentoo Linux since that's the mess of an OS I was using before Ubuntu. If Ubuntu would turn "pay to play" now I would, since Ubuntu introduced...
That's kinda what I meant, they don't NEED more money.
Man, that was a joke. AND, they could be a little nicer to "us". :P
They already have enough money PERIOD :P

Thanks for this howto. :)
Reading it I was able to get rid of the bloated debian menu, which I don't like.
Thanks. :)
