Here is how I solved my issue:

I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid to get a newer kernel and get rid of the kernel freeze.

I then downgraded Xorg from 7.4 to 7.3 to have my sis driver working....

Despite my efforts in running Intrepid (Xorg 7.4) on my Intel D201GLY2 with his crap SiS chipset, I miserably failed. :(:(:(

I had everything fine under Ubuntu 8.04 with the driver compiled by Otto.

I did a do-release-upgrade to upgrade from hardy to intrepid....

Too bad. I did not catch this was for FreeBSD.
Anyhow, the change might help me apply the same changes on the driver provided by Intel.
