CPU temperature sensors can be somewhat unreliable. If your computer is not crashing, it's probably not too hot - but isantop's suggestions are a good idea anyway.
Did you install the build-essential package? I believe it's still required for compiling stuff.
Your disc probably only has Windows drivers, which are pretty useless in Linux.
Does your motherboard work? Linux includes drivers for most motherboard components.

Have you tried using a different mouse?
Yes, you can use a different port - just change the "Port 22" line /etc/ssh/sshd_config to "Port XXXX" (where XXXX is whatever port you want, 2222 is a good alternative SSH port), then forward that...
You don't need to use Wordpress if you don't want to - Wordpresss is a tool you could use to essentially handle some of the behind-the-scenes details of running a blog. See the website for more...
Something like Sage?
I seem to be able to take at least 150 or so pictures on one battery charge.
I bought a Canon PowerShot SD1000 ($200, probably can find cheaper) about a year ago, and I've been pretty happy with it. It does take fairly good pictures without the flash as long as you hold the...

It's possible, take a look here, but it might be a big project to do by yourself.
I think the one discussed in this article is more geared for military use. Of course, it is only a prototype.
