    I only have access to USB 2.0 ports, so whatever I have been posting here is applicable for usb 2.0 ports only!

    I did install ntfsprogs, and updated with no difference.

    For the problematic (Seagate) drive:

    I did try a fat32 partition on the disk and it works fine.

    I'm pretty sure drive's health is ok, I'll chkdsk/defrag it later just to make sure.
