    This day and age data encryption is a must whether its /home or full disk encryption (LVM). I prefer both for double layer of security. Everyone should use /home encryption in multi-user environments...

    When I run Ubuntu off a CD does it write to the hard drive or handled all in memory? Don't want any effect done to the OS currently on the hard drive while testing Ubuntu.
