I guess i am just not the "purist" you seem to be in these matters...my friend and i have gotten a lot of frustrated windows users over to Ubuntu and the majority are VERY happy with it and even...
Linux Mint has targeted ads on the forums (which ubuntu does not) and no one over there complains about that...it's used for the same purpose...to bring some revenue in to help fund development......
Yes...but without the business model...no movement in propelling linux into the mainstream ;)
@v1k1ng1001: the answer to that is very simple: if they are newcomers and they like it, then no problem...if they don't they will probably ask if there is way to turn it off and they will be quickly...
It's not spyware... Canonical and Amazon could care less about what you are doing with your computer or your personal information...it's just a little way for Canonical to generate some revenue to...
