    As a follow up if I add the line for the win32codecs it disappears after I run Xine or Totem-xine. It seems to regenerate the config file automatically.

    No offense but I am not that new.. :grin:

    I have run totem-xine but when I go to the location /home/<usr>/.xine/ all I have is a catalog.cache file. I have run totem-xine but not xine....

    I don't have /home/<user name>/.xine/config. There is nothing there. I have totem-xine installed as well as xine-ui. Do I need to do something?
