Then honestly your best bet would be to fill one of the empty hard drive slots with a new hdd or ssd and install windows on that. The bonobo can hold 2x 2.5" drives and 2x mSata drives.

Hello all,
I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon and I was wondering about the current state of optimus support (bumblebee etc) on Ubuntu. Is it easily set up? How about battery life?...
I did find it too big some days honestly. Like the notion of carrying this thing around just didn't sit right some days.
Note: I also have back problems.
Honestly, don't buy the machine maxed out. Upgrade the RAM yourself to save some money.
But VMWare/Virtual Box won't allow gaming (efficiently), so that's hardly a solution. You need to dual boot.
What are you complete specs in terms of storage? Are you opposed to reinstalling...
Update: I removed ubuntu (nothing personal) and installed Antergos GNOME3. I love it. Battery life is improved as well.
I think other than buying dirrectly from s76, your best bet would be to find a "universal laptop charger" on amazon and see it it would work. Or you could google "clevo laptop chargers" and find one...
This is something I did. The System76 driver only pulled some libs on my system.
I used the official Intel installer on my Kudo to great success. It's pretty easy and straight forward.

Yeah, the only thing the driver did for me was saving the screen brightness. The driver in the control panel says that Ubuntu provides all the drivers for my laptop.
I have my system76 laptop, and have had no issues. I;d say your case is just an outlier.
Update: I upgraded the ram to 16GB.
Yes I know, I'm just comparing the laptops because I've owned all three within a year.
And yes, I had also read those reviews and was afraid that was going to be my problem as well. But...it...
You will free right at home with this touchpad. As long as you wont miss the pinch zoom and 3+ finger gestures.
Hello all,
Background:
I'm a Computer Science student at the University of Michigan, and it was my plan to have the best laptop for me as I'm OCD and a bit of a perfectionist. My first instict...
I still say you'd be happier with an Nvidia card. Honestly.
But who knows, AMD'd drivers have picked up lately.
Roccat Kone XTD+. All DPI settings work (once setup in windows(I think)) because it has an on-board processor that controls it. So for instance I can go from 8200DPI to 3400DPI with no hiccups or any...
SteamOS beta/alpha images will be launching tomorrow, so I'd definitely try that out. +1 to Nvidia, although I'm buying a 290X soon.
Sorry. To clarify: Yes, Linux has built in drivers for the 360 controller. However, when trying to play source games on steam (portal/left4dead2) the controls are messed up/not working.
There is...
Not with steam it doesn't.
I've decided to go with the XPS 13. For these reasons: 1)Hard shell case avaliable 2) Student discount of several hundred dollars (compared to lenovo's $100)
I am not buying the Ubuntu edition,...
You can if I'm not mistaken.
And I hope the rumors of "steam-os" are true.
After some thought (and a "show-rooming" trip to BestBuy), I've decided to get an Ultra-book because I like the look and feel. That being said, I've got it down to the Dell and the X1 Carbon from...
