Of course! I'm grateful to Bruce, or anyone here for that matter, whenever I borrow their works or ideas or get help from them. Like I got help from you now. :D
Really a great place full of great...
Thanks dmillerct, it was easy with your direction. I also put it on my panel. Playing with Conky configs is now much easier.
Hi everyone! I took this file from one of Bruce's MUCH older posts:
#!/bin/sh
# click to start, click to stop
if pidof conky | grep [0-9] > /dev/null
then
exec killall conky
That's neat Conky, niraj2709. Also nice background.
The font for Swap, processes (gears), calendar, globe (for Internet) and volume is Poky.
Nice fonts. Got to use them :D.
Thanks Crinos512.
 shame, didn't notice that although I coded it right just in the previous section.
So, after efforts of a few hours, here's what I've got running on my desktop. :D Hope you'd like it.
I mainly borrowed from Mick. Thanks to him. And all of you.

Thanks for directing me in the right direction. :)
Thanks harold4 & dmillerct for your replies. I'll definiteely try your suggestions when I get home. But now I really believe it's the time-delay option in the .startconky script that's causing this...
Hello everyone! Wanted to post my new set-up of conky, but I am facing this weird problem.
Towards the end of logging-in process I can see Conky loading but when the wallpaper loads Conky goes...
But they say Ubuntu is being installed in the Vista installation partition, I guess. Can't it be installed in another partition of its own? Say, by deleting one partition under Vista and formatting...
I've also read about this "shrinking" of the Vista installation partition for installing Ubuntu. Can anyone please explain why to do this instead of installing Ubuntu/Linux on a separate partition...
It is a pleasant experience reading this thread and seeing so many experiments with this wonderful tool--conky.
Here is my .conkyrc
