Well it's sad to say but very true. Windows XP still beats Ubuntu easily. The whole 3.5 fiasco has just hammered this home to me. Canonical still has a lot to learn...

That just about says it all. I think it's time to move onto a rolling release. I am absolutely fed up of Canonical's stupid waiting games.
It just crashes on the Windows 98 splash screen and doesn't go any further! I've tried googling it but can't find any answers.

Your laptop has an old Intel graphics chip, I'm afraid you can't expect much in the way of 3D performance on Linux or Windows.

I've tried the guide on their site, but it's for Hardy, and doesn't seem to work with Jaunty.
