  1. [mythbuntu] Re: bttv-based TV tuner and Asus P4P800 motherboard

Figured out this problem was due to poor signal between the card and motherboard, i.e. dust. Cleaned connections with rubbing alcohol and the card was detected fine. This card is indeed fully...

    Re: Easy Ubuntu Clustering

Ok, I've tried some of the SVN revisions now. I can confirm that r4762 and r5069 (latest) are working versions. They have "sort of" fixed the cluster status bug. I say "sort of" because krgadm...

    Re: Easy Ubuntu Clustering

Thanks bigjimjams! I actually got the cluster up and running right after I saw your note about the "no running cluster" bug in krgadm. I ended using a package DRBL which configures the dhcp-server,...

    Re: Easy Ubuntu Clustering

    bigjimjams,

I am another person who would love to see a tutorial for this. I have been following tutorial at http://trac.nchc.org.tw/grid/wiki/krg_DRBL. But since I am using a more recent...

The card is listed in the output of lspci

  8. Re: Getting Gedit to recognize a custom .lang file for GtkSourceView

Can you post your lang file here?

Also, try running gedit from the terminal. You should hopefully see some debug messages indicating what the problem is.
  9. Re: What advice would you give to women who think Linux is "hard"?

First I gotta say that I am CompSci graduate, so of course I would consider myself very confident in using and learning more about computers. Furthermore, I don't think there is anything inherent in...

Correction, there have been 90 posts since the start of the Ubuntu Women's forum. Don't forget that some get archived!

Anyways, this issue of activeness is part of my argument about supporting...

    Poll: Re: LGBT Ubuntu subforum

First of all, this horse has already been beaten to death in the Ubuntu Women forum. But I can't help jumping in again...

I think there are legitimate reasons for both supporting and not...

    Re: Progressive Tech Jobs?

The reason not to go to some school like DeVry would be that it is not considered sufficient education for the typical software engineering jobs you see available. DeVry/ITT Tech/etc are designed to...

Re: Prelinking Guide- Make Ubuntu Feel Faster

I love some of the HOWTO's that are on the forums. But this last one makes me think there needs to be a warning system for HOWTO's. Last night, just before sleeping, I saw this prelinking guide and...

Re: Suggestion for new name for forum

I agree with Aysiu. Changing the name because it makes a small minority of people (who have said they will never post here anyhow...see previous thread) feel more comfortable is a waste of our time....
  16. Re: The Composite Manager Guide: How to Get Vista-ish Effects in (K)(X)Ubuntu.

The HOWTO is excellent, had no problems following it. But the results were disappointing to me. The "shadows" are really just a fuzzy gradient border around every window, panel, and menu. I...

    Developing a mission statement

So this forum has been opened for nearly half a year and has eight threads...hmm, it seems that it could be doing better.

Perhaps sapo wishes I wouldn't do this, but I'd like to revisit his idea:...
