    HOWTO: StarCraft 2 + Bumblebee + Wine 1.5

Here's how I got StarCraft II running under Kubuntu 12.04 with Wine 1.5 and Bumblebee (for NVIDIA Optimus laptops). Hopefully, someone else will find it useful. I will assume you've already installed...

[ubuntu] Re: How do you make more space for linux?

You'll need it if you need to reinstall Windows someday.

The next best thing to having a dedicated partition and dual-booting is running Ubuntu in a virtual machine. Take a look at VirtualBox.

[all variants] Re: Experience with HP dv7t-7000 Quad Edition?

Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the laptop last week. These days it seems impossible to find one with high-end NVIDIA graphics that doesn't also include Optimus. But good to know Bumblebee works.

    [ubuntu] Re: Thinkpad W530 nvidia

I ran across this page on the Linux Laptop Wiki that says you can set the video to "Discrete" in the BIOS to get the NVIDIA card to work. Supposedly, then, you don't need Bumblebee.

    [ubuntu] Re: Thinkpad W530 nvidia

Yes, you need Bumblebee if you want to use the NVIDIA hardware unless your BIOS lets you disable the Intel adapter.

Please let us know how you do with this. I'm looking at this laptop, too.

Whomever said that was giving out bad advice, I'm afraid. Ubuntu works fine with WPA in general, but some wireless devices work better than others "out-of-the-box". For example, some Broadcom...
