    Hi. Someone put me onto kdenlive, and that can handle the .mov files ok.

    It's a fairly sophisticated video editor too. Though I find the audio is a bit choppy while I'm editing it.

    Discovered that downgrading to kernel 2.6.31-11-rt seems to solve the problems. So unless anybody can see any reason why doing that is a bad idea, I shall mark this thread SOLVED.

    A Mail Transfer Agent, cdenley? No. Not as far as I know. But I think their inference from the people at my ISP is that it's some clever trojan that installs its own.
