Most BIOS are set up by default to boot from the CD/DVD drive before the first hard disk.
Can you burn Windows to a CD/DVD and try to boot from that?

Are you sure you're pressing the right key to get into your BIOS?
In my experience its usually either <Delete>, <Esc> or <F2>....
I take it all back.
Apart from the lack of love/hate buttons -- which as I understand it, isn't the fault of Rhythmbox.
The interface (and backend) is simply new and, as I've discovered, better.

I've now upgraded to 12.04, and I am getting full speed on USB2.
No USB3 hardware yet...
On those rare occasions when I have to transfer large files via USB, I have noticed that the transfer rate is slow.
I didn't notice it until a bunch of images which took me an hour to transfer...
