oldschool013,
Don't try to compare Ubuntu with Windows on this computer or you'll get depressed, this computer is completely built to work with Windows, battery time, temperature, startup times...
Angelo Maldito, can you suspend the computer by closing the lid?
I confirm the battery status problem, haven't found a solution yet.
Yes, I had done that before, but I later found your "Fast boot mode" option (yes, you saw it somewhere :)) in the Windows program "Samsung Settings" (or something like that).
This program actually...
Hi harakiri,
I believe you simply got it wrong, but please confirm this to me:
you meant "fast BIOS mode" and not "fast boot safe" right?
because I'm having a lot of trouble getting this laptop...
I had the same problem.
Also caused by Veetle. This solved it for me.
Thanks!
for me it was virtualbox 4.1 kernel module.
disable it from starting up by default (I didn't even know it was there), or simply disable them before you suspend.
in my case it was the new virtualbox 4.1 modules, disable them from starting up (with bum or rcconf) and try to suspend again.
as long as you're happy with that.
I realized chrome worked, but at a given time it was very strange having two different browsers open simultaneously for the same purpose.
if you want to know, the problem only went away with a fresh install of Natty.

EDIT:

this is just a work around, but if gmail is your only email application in that menu, you can change the icon called...
Well, I have the same problem with the edge flipping with mouse pointer (ubuntu classic).
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I thought of some conflict in compiz configuration, but I've...
I want to change this too.
I already managed to change the icon that shows on the bubble when you receive an email. somewhere in that python code you'll find something called...
well, i thought i was pretty smart for replacing [username] for [the actual username], but in the end i left the [].
i guess overjudged my intelect.
it worked now. thanks!
hi dutchgirl, i did it just like explained but after i confirmed the password it returned "Failed to add entry for user [whatever]"
i have samba installed, obviously, am i missing something else?
thank you both, once again.
i'm obviously a long way from being able to compile system files without any risk, and this is my working computer, and i've formatted it too many times now, and wasted...
yes, that's what i found when i went looking for the reboot icon.
but what do you mean by source code? does it mean that the file is not acessible in my computer? isn't that "source code" just the...
thank you both!
but well, that didn't work (the tip worked but i didn't find the file). i probably do not have it in my computer either...
the thing is, i started by opening this thread here,...
i need to check a file there, one that refers to the icon used for "restart" in the logout dialog box. the file i need is "gsm-logout-dialog.c".
i'm a bit tired of looking for it, both in my...
