it was only a snapshot... All I had. The host FS checks out; it is booting and running properly.
I restored from a backup and still have issues. I reran the boot-repair, this time I had automatic options, but they failed.
Boot Info Script 8f991e4 + Boot-Repair extra info ...
I had a power outage and now it seems that I can't boot.
I ran "boot-repair" and it says.

The issue was a buffalo dd-wrt one.
I added the command in "administration" > "commands"
iptables -t nat -I POSTROUTING -o br0 -s 10.10.10.0/24...
No, not at all. So is "hairpinning" the term I should be looking into?
My server actually handles the ddns, and it accessible from a toatly separate location.
It seems to be the loop that is an issue.
I changed my gateway hardware to a buffalo dd-wrt, I set up port 80 forwarding to my linux box as it was with the old gateway. NOW I can't get the website if I go to http://myurl.org

You would be amazed at how old of a system you can run Ubuntu server on. Find ANY desktop machine and install 14.04 server and see. I'll bet whatever box you find will work for your site.

Currently, through a samba share, but I have the "guest" mode enabled. Thus, there is no authentication of any type (as far as I know).
Is there a way to authenticate from windows? Files that don't have open permission give me a windows message of, "is this file open by another program"
