    Recently purchased Acer E1-510, pre-installed with Windows 8. Bios (v 2.02) was unable to read USB iso Ubuntu 14.04 from UEFI.
    I downloaded Bios (v 2.07) and changed it to bootable via Unetbootin....

    /dev/sdb1: LABEL="jericho" UUID="3261-5257" TYPE="vfat"


    sudo mkdir /media/usb

    Here is the entry in fstab.

    Maybe I need to use a windows box to do this. I tried:

    sudo mkfs -T exfat /dev/sdb1

    No change

    yes I'm wanting to reformat a usb stick to exfat. Your first link is broken i tried this


    mkfs -t vfat /dev/sdb1

    which isn't the answer

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:relan/exfat

    sudo apt-get update

    sudo apt-get install fuse-exfat
    sudo mkdir /media/exfat

    sudo fdisk -l
