I have never found anything better than the "Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide". I used it the entire time I was in my computer systems program, it is simply the best resourse out there.

To host a domain and its web site you need 3 things.
1) a registered domain name
2) a web server like apache to serve up the web pages
3) a dns entry to point your publicly accessable ip address...

Its fine not sure what all the complaining is about.
Here is the problem you did not set up your dns zone file entries correctly or you dont have and external IP(wan ip)
