Hmm, I changed the script to point to /usr instead of /usr/local as my current e17 stuff is in /usr/bin & /usr/lib. It compiled acouple of apps but choked on e:

Well, it turned out to be a 64 bit library linkage problem. I created a 32 bit chroot and the printer driver works fine. I'll puzzle it out at a later time. Now I don't have to boot into windows to...

You need to install the GNU C compiler "gcc" Do a search in Synaptic & you'll find it.
