[ubuntu] Re: Any issues with 12.04 on eee PC 1000?

Everything worked fine for me, though the update left out a few of my programs such as calibre, etc. wifi is working, graphics, screen resolution, etc.

[ubuntu] Re: Any issues with 12.04 on eee PC 1000?

Maybe a dumb question, but did you do all this in a LiveCD? If you're trying to do it by booting into the 4GB drive, you won't be able to unmount the 4GB drive to do the necessary formatting,...

[ubuntu] Re: Any issues with 12.04 on eee PC 1000?

I guess it does. My 12GB partition for / has 12.04 on it and nothing else, and it takes about 4.5GB of space.

You're probably right, it may be your only option.

    It'll depend on what...
  6. [ubuntu] Any difference in upgrading from 10.04->12.04 via terminal or LiveCD?

This is almost certainly a stupid question, especially since I've been using Ubuntu since 7.04. I have my / on its own partition, so my question is this: if I use the LiveCD and put 12.04 on the /...

[ubuntu] Any issues with 12.04 on eee PC 1000?

Specifically the 1000HA. I'm dual-booting Win7 and 10.04 currently, everything works well and I'm happy. I've tried the LiveCD for an hour or so and things went smoothly, but I want to know from...

[ubuntu] Re: Triple-booting with 6 partitions

You didn't offend me, though I can see how my response looks snarky and rude. I'm sorry for that. I think I'll hold off on triple booting (though I really want to do it just to do it, at this...

[ubuntu] Re: Triple-booting with 6 partitions

I'm aware of this, it's splitting hairs and the equivalent of calling someone out for saying the sun rises and sets, when in reality the earth is the one doing all the moving.

    Maybe running...

[ubuntu] Re: Triple-booting with 6 partitions

First, thanks for addressing all my questions. I'm aware that one can only combine adjacent spaces; that's part of my question. The moving of those non-adjacent spaces is going to take time, and...

[ubuntu] Re: Triple-booting with 6 partitions

    Yeah I know...

I'm beginning to think I should just make an .iso of my current Ubuntu setup, delete all my linux partitions leaving only my Win7 partition, and start all over. Would that just be...

    [ubuntu] Triple-booting with 6 partitions

I currently have a dual-boot setup, Win7/10.04, but will soon need a triple-boot setup, Win7/10.04/OSX. My current dual-boot setup is Win7, unallocated space, Ubuntu root, swap, and Home.

    Is...

    Re: Skype 2.1 Beta released!

Ghostwriter, you should be able to simply sudo apt-get remove, or sudo apt-get purge skype. Then, if you install it from sudo apt-get install skype, or from synaptic, I think it'll be the old 2.0,...

    Re: Skype 2.1 Beta released!

So far (about 20 minutes), Skype hasn't crashed on me nor resorted to eating up over 50% of my computer resources. It actually idles at about 2-5%, but when speaking it goes to 20-30%, which is ok...
