  1. Re: How to get legal Office 2010 to work on Ubuntu

Office 07 runs well enough in wine, and you can install a compatibility program that allows it to open 2010 files.

  2. Re: Can't install Broadcom STA wireless driver

If it helps, I have a 4318, and I just had to search synaptic for b43, and install the driver. After each boot up though, I have to run the following to get it to work:

    Problems after installation

    Hey,

Just installed the first beta, and when running it as a live cd, it ran great, no problems at all.

Now, after installation, there's no themes, Software Center crashes upon running, there...
  4. Re: Ghost install of valac nightly build?

I guess using the configure prefix is what needed to be done, took care of the problem!

Thanks for the help, would have gone crazy thinking I'd already done that.

  5. Ghost install of valac nightly build?

    Hey,

I have recently compiled the valac compiler from a daily git pull, and everything worked fine (building it anyway). When I went to do the 'sudo make install', everything went through it's...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: GNOME Shell Installation on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick

Building gtk3 first seems to do the trick for me, although doing the "make install" step from the first post throws another error with an outdated version (I can't remember the package off-hand)....
  7. [ubuntu] Re: GNOME Shell Installation on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick

I haven't tried sudo make install, but with the directions given for the new libnotify, I get the same error as arindom described.

Shameless self-bump. Am I missing a certain library or something? I've never had this happen to me before.

    UrT Loading Issues

    Hey,

So I tried installing/using Urban Terror on my 10.10 machine, and I get the same error over and over (x86_64):

"stdin is not a tty, tty console mode failed"

And I cannot play the game....

    Re: Installing Microsoft Office 2003

Check the App Database; When I looked, it seemed like it ran without many problems out of the box for most people.

When you attempt to start it through the terminal (wine ./word.exe), what sort of...

Re: An Ubuntu 10.10 ilustration :)

Very random, but pretty cool. It's nice that you've given it your own style. Better than I could EVER do.

Well, I've given up on this. It's not an essential package to have, and I don't feel like destroying my system just to attempt to install it.
