Nothing showed up with the locate Desktop :(

Your point about the default download folder was brilliant, though. While I couldn't remember the names of files & folders enough to do a search on...

    Desktop folder and files disappeared

    Hello,

I ran into this exact issue this morning: https://askubuntu.com/questions/182917/desktop-folder-and-files-disappeared, meaning that my home directory was shown on my Desktop and (I presume)...
  7. Re: Recent issues with NFS shares (various 17.10 flavors)

Sorry, not for me. Still opening a terminal whenever I want to copy/rename/move a file, which is extremely annoying. Anyone has filled a bug about this yet? if not I'll do it...
  8. Re: Recent issues with NFS shares (various 17.10 flavors)

Doesn't it make more sense to keep both our issues together since it seems to be the exact same one? kngharv, if you start a new thread, please post it here so that I can subscribe to it.
    It does...
  9. Re: Recent issues with NFS shares (various 17.10 flavors)

Bumping this thread just in case someone has more information since November. I still have this issue, which is incredibly annoying as most of my files are on NFS share and that makes nautilus/thunar...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: 17.10 NFS GUI write issue (terminal rw fine)

Just saw your post; unfortunately I didn't find it when I posted the same issue yesterday. See https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2376235&p=13705851.

I didn't really understand your point...
  11. Re: Recent issues with NFS shares (various 17.10 flavors)

Works with no problem, which is why I'm so puzzled, it doesn't look like a permission issue.
Note that from nautilus I can copy, but not paste (pasting locally is fine, not to a NFS share)....
  12. Re: Recent issues with NFS shares (various 17.10 flavors)

Thanks! I should have thought of this one :) however, no error. See attached screenshot. No error either when I drag a file to a folder attempting to move it.
