  1. Re: What company could top Apple in build quality and market share?

I think you are undervaluing Apple's involvement in designing their hardware. They might be using technology developed by others but so do other companies.

You are also wrong on the antenna design...
  2. Re: What company could top Apple in build quality and market share?

    You are wrong.

The 2 year EU-mandated limited warranty applies to any product sold to a consumer. The thing that most people miss is that after 6 months after purchase the burden of proofing...

    Is this infraction worthy?

I did receive an infraction for a previous version of the above post. I'm not debating that since it was a little harsh to the poster. That post was deleted.

The above post is version 2. I see...

Poll: Re: Tablet Sizes vs Prices

You can't be serious about those prices. Amazon Kindle Fire is going for $199 and they are losing money making them. iPad's $500 price point is what is realistic for a 10" device.

I'm always amazed how many people think this.
  6. Re: Google Loses. Microsoft Wins - 50% Android License Fees to MSFT

I read some article that has that number. IIRC most of the litigation was coming from patent trolls aka non-practicing entites. They could be skewing the statistics because of that.
    In the same...
  7. Re: Google Loses. Microsoft Wins - 50% Android License Fees to MSFT

What makes you think they will lose? Patent lawsuits usually have around 50-60% chance of being in favor of plaintiff (at least in the US).

I doubt Oracle is going to have a problem with that....
  8. Re: Google Loses. Microsoft Wins - 50% Android License Fees to MSFT

You are moving the goal posts. You claimed that the moment somebody opposes MS their case would fall apart. I have yet to see that happen.

Oracle would be patent trolling if they didn't have...
  9. Re: Google Loses. Microsoft Wins - 50% Android License Fees to MSFT

And yet most thought it wasn't smart to challenge Microsoft. Some of those deals are probably of the cross-licensing variety but from the available information it looks like Microsoft is the one that...

Re: Software Centre promoting paid applications

I thought it was pretty obvious all the paid applications in the What's New queue are there because they simply piled there during Ocelot's development. So once 11.10 came out they simply became...

Re: Software Centre promoting paid applications

If you are referring to software in my experience OSX has higher quality software amongst all desktop platforms. OSX apps > Windows apps > Linux apps.

    Re: .NET dead or alive?

I'm no coder so this is merely on observation on what I've read on the matter in regard to Mono/C# and games.

Mono developers have positioned Mono as an easily embeddable scripting engine for 3D...

Re: Apple's lawsuit about the Galaxy Tab

This isn't true. Apple asserted a number of utility patents against Samsung in US, Netherlands and Australia. There are probably more.

I doubt it. Samsung is trying to use 3G patents against...

Please stop trying to make this a discussion low on intelligent discourse and arguments. Your argument is flawed because you are overgeneralizing. In the above example other companies could make a...

Then don't use word you don't understand.

Actually a single dimension would be length. 2+ dimensions can be shapes.

Considering that the injunction was requested based on Apple's claims of...

Re: Apple's lawsuit about the Galaxy Tab

True but that only means the standard of design protection should be lowered since there isn't that much space to differentiate. It doesn't mean there isn't space to do that. There are other tablets...

Re: Apple's lawsuit about the Galaxy Tab

This is irrelevant when discussing physical design. And just because I think that FOSS is a good ideal it doesn't mean I think other approaches aren't also legitimate.
