    In Ubuntu select Applications, then Ubuntu Software Center. Once the window opens in the top right you will see the search box, type samba should see at the top of the list...

    that should do it for you.

    After about 30Min my display goes blank even after I set the power options to never, the problem here is I can't get back into the gui without restarting the computer.

    cmod -R 755 home/usr

    Firefox is now to figure out how to copy all of my links that I have...

    Seems like I have the problem solved but now I cant start Firefox, but I can if I do it through the terminal as root.

    That is a great question, I wish I had the answer to it. The only thing I did was change the root passwd and log in as root but this is the first time I had this happen.

    I'm running Ubuntu Server 9.10, when I log in to a user account I can not run Firefox unless I start it as root through the terminal.

    Any ideas on how to fix this.

    For me it was the fact that I could run a server with out restrictions, and still have a very nice desktop.

    All the free software is a nice bonus.
