  1. [ubuntu_studio] Upgraded 13.10 to 14.04 Want to change default python to 3.x

I did an upgrade over the wire using
    update-manager -d
I notice I am still using python 2.7.6 but I also have python 3.4.0 on the machine.
Would it be wiser to back up my home folder and do a...

[xubuntu] Re: Continuing mouse cursor problem

I had a similar issue, where mouse and keyboard worked before an up grade and not after, but they worked fine if the gui was started from the tty1 with startx.

  6. [ubuntu_studio] Clean install 12.04 FSCK runs for 10 minutes every boot.

This is not what I was used to before. It used to be fsck did a disk check every 30 boots, which is usual. /var/log/bootlog:

[ubuntu] Re: Formatting a 3TB drive GUID partition table

The bootable firmware disk booted but the gui-based updater failed. I got a centos live disk and flashed the bios through that. I still haven't quite gotten the drive repartitioned.

[ubuntu] Re: Formatting a 3TB drive GUID partition table

One possible solution I am pursuing is to download the firmware bootable update disc from HP and use it to get the systems to a place where they can see over 2.2TB drives.

GPartEd sees it as the 802GB drive.
I am pretty sure there isn't a selective de-gausser in use in my office. It is very weird.
The MS documentation I saw suggested going in at the bios level and...
