    the location and the things needed to be changed haven't changed since then.

    remove "splash" from your kernel options in /boot/grub/menu.lst

    I did some short tests to compare elvator=AS and deadline here
    (bootime and backup)

    it seems that AS is still the best working here, when it comes to throuput in...

    I was also wandering about this elevator thing since i read about it some time ago.
    I have tried elevator=cfq but that seem to reduce my system speed
    e.g. throughput...

    in Dapper the file has changed to :
    /etc/lsb-base-logging.sh

    in there replace:
    echo "[ ok ]"

    with:

    printf '[ '
    $TPUT setaf 2 # green

    after changing to:
    deb http://ubuntu-backports.mirrormax.net/


    everything worked fine again. Hmm u...
