It doesn't sound like port forwarding on the home router is the issue as the home server can be accessed fine via the web hosting server.

You say the Windows machine is on your work network. Is...

Re: mount command not working from rc.local

You might like to try using fstab instead. There is a Ubuntu wiki page on how to auto mount cifs shares using fstab that may also be of interest.

    [SOLVED] Re: UFW rejects connection

Did you copy/paste the output from ufw status verbose?

One thing that appears wrong is it refers to eht0, which I guess should probably be eth0.

[ubuntu] Re: Brasero issue - 'hidden files'.

That's annoying, I'll try burning a multi-session disc at some point today and see if I can repeat the issue.

[ubuntu] Re: Brasero issue - 'hidden files'.

You need to unmount between each mount command, e.g.

    sudo mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom -o session=0
    ls /mnt/cdrom
    sudo umount /dev/sr0
    then increment the session number,

    sudo mount /dev/sr0...

I don't think you can use IP ranges with ufw (if I'm wrong, no doubt someone will chime in!).

If you use iptables directly then you can use the iprange module, e.g.:

The device you want to mount comes first, then the empty directory you want to mount it to, e.g.:
