[all variants] DNSBL for all ports?

I run a gaming server that's occasionally inundated by spammers who evade IP bans by using open proxies.

I'd like to block them using blacklists such as dronebl and abuse.ch. I've found directions...

Trying Ubuntu 12.04b2, AMD64 version. I have an Nvidia GT 430 FX card.

Upon completing installation, Ubuntu only detected one monitor and refused to see the second one.

    I tried...

[ubuntu] Re: Firewall with an enormous whitelist?

These responses are all absolutely amazing. I ended up going a different non-nuclear route, but it's really good to know that I have this reference here in case I ever need to implement this.

[ubuntu] Re: Firewall with an enormous whitelist?

Eh. That's okay. I'm scripting it anyway, so it's not like I have to type it out.

[ubuntu] Re: Firewall with an enormous whitelist?

Thanks for the tip. So I would basically put

    ALL : ALL

    in the deny and

    ALL: 1.1. , 1.2. , 1.3. , ... (for another few thousand entries)

    in the allow?

[ubuntu] Firewall with an enormous whitelist?

I run a game server whose main game chat has been getting spammed by an extremely persistent attacker. He appears to be using various proxy services to bypass IP bans. We've managed to slow him down...

    [ubuntu] Reinstalling audio?

    System: Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit

Okay, this is kind of a strange question.

A while ago, I was trying to get this obscure application to work through Wine, and I determined that I needed to upgrade...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Getting linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32-35-generic

The problem turned out to be something entirely different.

    As per http://www.linuxformat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=91180, I ran

    sudo apt-get purge bluez-alsa

    and now everything appears to...

    System info: Ubuntu 10.04, 64-bit

  13. [ubuntu] Re: Refuses to acknowledge new FX card if first one is in

Solved! Or, at least, got a workaround going.

Apparently it matters to my mobo the positioning of the GPUs in the PCI slots. The older GPU was in a lower-numbered PCI slot, so that's why it kept...
  14. [ubuntu] Re: Refuses to acknowledge new FX card if first one is in

Oh, here's my Xorg.conf file for when I have only the new card in, and everything's properly configured:

  15. [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Refuses to acknowledge new FX card if first one is in

Okay, some background: I built my computer myself about a year ago. Bought a mid-range Nvidia graphics card. The FX card's fan was noisy, so about six months ago, I removed the fan. I have some...

Re: Jerky Video w/ nVidia GT 240

Are you using the GStreamer codecs? (I am) Also, where did you get your nVidia drivers? I'm thinking maybe I'd have better luck if I installed the proprietary drivers through the PPA?

Re: Jerky Video w/ nVidia GT 240

Turning off Compiz did nothing, alas. And, again, I think VLC will handle the video playback. It's the other video stuff that I'm concerned about now.

Re: Jerky Video w/ nVidia GT 240

Okay, well I have yet to encounter the problem in VLC, so I suspect it's a codec issue. That fixes the video playback problem (though I would prefer to use Totem), but what about game cinematic...
  20. [ubuntu] Re: whatever I do only 2 of 3 screens would light up.. nVidia card

I'm confused--what's the third screen? I have a GT240 card that has 1xVGA, 1xDVI and 1xHDMI. The HDMI can't be used at the same time as the DVI (by design). That's not the issue you're running into...

    So first, the issue:

Video playback is sporadically jerky. This is the case for video in games, playing back AVI files (Totem), editing videos in Avidemux... haven't actually observed it for flash...
