That might cross the line, as there's quite a bit of gloss in other parts of the theme - plus, if this is aiming to be the default theme it should be somewhat restrained. Plus Matte is the new Gloss...
Hello everyone, sorry for my extended absence. My computer died and I haven't been able to get on the forums for a while.
Long overdue answers:
Joebob06 - It's still possible to change the nice...
Enter the following into a terminal:
wine explorer /desktop=desktop,1024x768 winecfg.exe
A Linux emulator, eh? I suppose a combination of Update Checker, Tango Icons and the Murrina theme plus a bit of cygwin might be close enough to count.
Is the new deb package working okay?...
Thanks a lot, I haven't tried Freeciv in quite a while. Hopefully the sdl interface has gotten to the point that it doesn't crash every ten minutes or so.
Good luck with the black art of debian...
I forgot to say this the first time around, but ... thanks for this thread! It's been insanely useful.
I just want to add a few (somewhat) useful things I figured out while foraging through Wine's...
I'm really sorry about the disastrous deb package, that was terrible of me. The "/usr/local/share/mime" directory exists on Gutsy, so I didn't even notice the problem.
I updated the package on the...
According to Winehq it's been tested on Edgy Eft. Unfortunately, it's been tested as not working in the slightest.
If you did try to install it, though, it would basically impossible to screw up...
It's a bit of shameless self promotion, but you might want to check out my wine script. It automatically runs .msi files and changes to an application's base directory (as Everywhere_at_Once...
Good catch; it's fixed now. It must confer great confidence in a bash script when it's creator can't even format a http link properly :)
I replaced the link with one to version 1.01, which fixes...
1.0 is out! Many things were rewritten, and among the things added was integration with Wine's AppDB.
This is the first version that changes how the script is used to any extent - at least if you...
Hey timan.
I looked over your script and, to be succinct, EVERYTHING is broken! I have to go to bed at the moment, but I'll have some time to look it over tomorrow evening and be of more help.
If the update exited instantly, the cache file is probably corrupt. This will generate a new one
sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor
You should see "Cache file created...
I uploaded a new version with one change - it now, when run via terminal, doesn't spam it like crazy with status messages. Sorry about that.
Have you tried using the cp command instead of symlinks? The standard convention for icon themes is to never link an icon to something out of it's own directory, as then they can't be moved to...
Did you remember to update the icon cache afterwards?
sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor/
In the .desktop file, just use "prog-name" instead of "prog-name.png".
Oh... right. That's probably important.
Here you go.
I happened upon this when searching through Wine's documentation for things to add to my wine script:
wine explorer /desktop=desktop,1024x768 winecfg.exe
I downloaded the demo, and it runs perfectly for me, so I can't really help with the freezing issues. Like vadi said, if you're using Compiz/Beryl, start the game like this (replace metacity with...
Very much, thanks! I have an LCD monitor with only one refresh rate, so I completely overlooked that part.
The new version 0.9 I just uploaded should work with all versions of xrandr, and also...
This script tries to make it as easy as possible to run applications in another xserver - just add "xswitch" before a program's name - up to eleven at a time - and it will be automatically started in...
I completely forgot about the new version of xrandr in Gutsy. I'll come up with something that works for Feisty as well.
Until then, you can quickly change your resolution with:
xrandr -s ...
Hold on, I should be able to fix that...
edit:
I just uploaded a new version of the script that makes sure the correct resolution gets restored when a game exits. Let me know if it clears things...
